Drinking Sand

Drinking Sand*

You repeat the same old bad news

like a broken record of the blues

Getting away from you is what I choose

before the rest of my mind I lose

This is not what I planned

but, this pain I can’t stand

Girl, I want you to know

that I need you so

Baby I want to be your man

but, your love it is like drinking sand

I was willing to do my part

because I need your loving heart

Everything now is a mess

and I can’t deal with the stress

I can’t take is anymore

I’m leaving  out the backdoor

Girl I need you so

but, I got to go

Baby, I want to be your man

but, your love it is like drinking sand
