Dear Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

I don’t know who you are yet, but I hope that you have been having the most incredible day. I can’t say how excited I am for the day you come into my life. We may have met already who knows, only time will tell, but there are a few things I want you to know.
I make sure that I always say a little prayer for you. I pray that I am becoming the person you are looking for and vice versa. I pray that you are working to become the best significant other you can be, and the person to come in and be my other half, my best friend. I pray that when we do meet we have and incredible relationship together, from the first date to the very end. I know that God is working on us for each other every day.
I’m so happy we’re both being patient enough to wait until we find each other. Patient enough to know that if we settle we might not have the beautiful marriage we know we deserve one day. Patient enough to know that we may not be exactly where we want right now, but are working towards it. I’m actually pretty bad at being patient, but I know you and this relationship are worth it.
I’m looking forward to you always knowing how to make me laugh and how to comfort me when I’ve had a less than perfect day. I hope you are amused by my nerdy jokes, and accept all of my little quirks.
I hope that I can always do the same for you too, and I promise to always laugh at your jokes. Even the not so funny ones.
I’m already in love with the moments and experiences we’ll get to share together. Traveling and exploring the world, lazy nights watching our favorite movies, eating our favorite meals, supporting each other’s dreams, trying new hobbies, dinner parties with our families, planning a family of our own and so much more.
I know it won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it. I might not be the best with relationships now, but I know that every past experience is preparing me to be the best wife to you. I know you’ve had some interesting relationships too and it’s okay. I know we’re both a little scared but we have each other. We’re in this together and it will be amazing and worth the wait and struggles.
I don’t want you to be perfect it’s not possible, I’m not either. I want us to be perfectly imperfect together.
I want us to promise to always learn and grow together. I want us to always feel safe, secure and loved and know that those feelings will never change. I promise to always love you unconditionally!
You know those butterflies we would get in the beginning? I want us to still get those many years from now when we see each other.
Letting someone completely into your life and heart takes a lot. It’s hard, scary, and takes being vulnerable, but I know that you are worth me letting my walls down. I hope you feel the same about me.
In the words of one of my favorite quotes:
“We’re all a little weird. And life is weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutual weirdness and call it love.”
I can’t wait for us to be in this and be weird together. I promise to always put my full effort into making you happy, smile and proud to have me by your side.
Whether you stumble upon this before we meet or years after we are together I hope it makes you smile. I hope it reassures that I’m in this with you and here for you and have been from the start.

XO- Your Future Mrs.
