Eggs, bread and bacon are
more than just a light snack. But
what a day it is when you’d rather trade in
a good fortune to maybe fund a bit of smack.
You stand on the corner keeping precious
guard of those tree-shaped scents.
Wait right there while I run into the shop
to figure out what you do with those cents.
Eggs, bread and bacon are
more than just a light snack. Not
a case where you should run away
from them like a self-made sneak attack.
But by now your head is saying “where did you go?”
“Why did I go?”
But don’t tell me you don’t know.
You knew I was merely a stone’s throw.
A stone’s throw from a token you didn’t know.
But yet a token you chose to blow
off today and possibly a long time ago.
