A Broken Crayon

We come into this world new, like a crayon fresh out of the box
the majority of us free of disease like the chicken pox

Different hues but, DNA wise 99.9% the same
each with our own name

All with the similar desire
to feel the passion of another human being’s fire

We wear down as we grow older
due to the fact that all of life’s weight we have to shoulder

This makes it difficult for us to color our world within the lines
during especially during tough times

But, in our hearts we still shine brightly
regardless how much of a broken crayon we may be
